Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was a natural at athletics early on discovering her speedy abilities while she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came third in the 200 meters of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix had graduated high school in 2003 signed an athletic contract with Adidas. She later attended the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. In 2004, Felix achieved the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an unofficial junior world record running 200 meters with a time of 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world winner in the 200m in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She was consistently within the top three places of the events.
