Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was aware that she had a talent to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks after the first time she tried out. Felix finished high school in 2003, and signed with Adidas to become professional athlete. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place in Athens Greece. She broke the Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed within the top three athletes in each of her events.
